5 Productivity Strategies For Freelancers That Work!

5 Productivity Strategies For Freelancers That Work!

Get yourself a work-station:

It is immensely important to get yourself an appropriate work station that suits your needs and requirements. It may or may not be an expensive one but, you need to invest in equipments that will ease and aid your work process. For example: If you are a freelancer and work from home, you need to get yourself a small working area where there is a set up of a table, a comfortable chair, an efficient PC or a laptop with strong WIFI. All other stationary requirements should be at one place.

This thing has improved my productivity by ten times as I no longer have to stress about looking out for things. Also, it is important that we chose a relatively peaceful area with less chaos around. This is difficult when you work from a home office but, figuring out a way is the deal.

Plan your day to get more done:

Yes, having a day planner works wonders for many, including me! Some people feel tied up by schedules and planners but trust me, when it’s done appropriately, it does work. Here, the significant thing is have manageable goals that means do not jot down 50 things to do in a single day. Be practical and take up 5 or 10 tasks that can be accomplished in a day. You can even schedule tasks by time or have time bound goals. Figure out what works for you best!

I know the joy and pleasure of striking off a task from the to-do-list after completing it successfully! 😀 This habit gives you clarity of what needs to be done and, helps you finish things on time.

Workout:

This may seem out of the league for many, but the bitter truth is that people who work out and exercise regularly, stay energetic throughout the day, making them more productive. Studies show that working out daily has a positive impact our day to day activities. It helps us have a good mental and physical health, aiding us in being productive. Doing Yoga every day can also help big time.

Manage your state of mind:

This is a no brainer! If our mind is not at peace, it becomes extremely hard to focus on work. It is a known fact that we are at our creative best when we are happy and feel good. Ideas just pop in when we are relaxed and not stressed out. An angry and frustrated mind cannot be productive; it will not let us concentrate and drain our energy. Our hectic work schedule can take a toll on our health, so it is important that we nourish our mind and soul. Some mediation practises or music and other activities that help you relax should be carried out. This will definitely aid in increasing productivity.

Value your commitments:

When you are your own boss and no one is there to constantly remind you about the deadlines and upcoming events, things can turn hard for some. It is best to value your own work and commitments as much as you value commitment given to others. Dedication and focus is a must here. Obviously, it is easier said than done, but when you have your dreams and goals clear, it will be much easier to stay committed. Eliminate distractions while working and complete the task in hand. Keep time aside specially for social media, emails and other diversions so they do not eat up your work time.

Find out the real reason of WHY you’re doing what you’re doing and, then there will never be a problem. 🙂

These productivity guidelines or hacks are not only for freelancers but, for anyone who wishes to get more done. Students can also benefit big time from these simple tricks to focus on their studies and this can be easily applicable there.

Do let me know if you find these productivity tricks useful. You can share it with someone who may need it. 🙂
