On this occasion of Republic day, I would like to share some unknown facts that one should know about the history of the date 26th January. As everyone knows about this day, India got republic i.e. the constitution came into force on this day. But, how did this happen? What was the need of doing so?
To run a program, every hardware needs a software!
India was finding different ways and using different methods and, strived hard to attain freedom. Self governance was the idea, contrary to the colonised regime.
The real fight started in 1906-1910, when powerful leaders like Mahatma Gandhi, Subhash Chandra Bose, Jawaharlal Nehruji, and others, who successfully strived against the British Government, and also the independent warriors like Bhagat Singh, Chandrashekhar Azad, Rajguru and many more fought till death, just behind the idea of self governance. Because of all such movements against the British government, India finally became an independent country!
As every product comes with a user manual, a huge entity like India obviously needed a book of guidance. It’s like a holy book to which, events and governance are executed. This was the software the country needed. Hence, a committee was set up with Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar as its head. The sole ambition of this committee was to draft a constitution suitable to the sovereign country like India.

Stand anywhere in India, and travel 500 kilometres in any direction, the religion, ritual, food, clothing, temperature, habitat changes. Hence, at such a huge diversity, it was necessary to select a perfect democracy. As there are many types of democracies, Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar studied all of them with his team and drafted the constitution which very well suited the country. Thus, the constitution came into existence.
