The World Culture Festival 2016 held in Delhi on 11, 12 and 13 March, is indeed an event to boast of. It astonishes me over many things and also fills me with pride. It is surprising to believe the magnitude of this event which has the world’s largest stage (7 Acres), a gathering of over ‘3.5 Million People’ and participation of over 155 countries at an event hosted by India, organised by the Art of Living foundation, celebrating its 35 years of service to humanity and mankind. The event will be inaugurated by our Prime Minister of India – Shri Narendra Modi Ji.
WCF 2016 is a FREE event and is open for all. One can participate in the grand event by being present in Delhi or by enjoying it on your TV Screens, watching live telecast on TV & Internet. Here, I have made a list of things Not to be missed at the World Culture Festival 2016!
1. Cultural Celebration:
WCF 2016 is a cultural extravaganza! 155 countries are participating and bringing in their cultures along! Imagine how beautiful it would be to learn about multiple cultures, languages, and their nuances along with 3.5 million other happy souls. The world will witness this extraordinary gathering of the ‘happy masses’ for world peace & harmony and to celebrate diversity.
Just to give you a glimpse – There will be a grand orchestra of over 8500 musicians and 40 instruments, 33,527 artists from across the globe, 1000 North East Dancers, 1000 Bharatnatyam Dancers, 1000 Odissi Dancers, 1000 Kathak Dancers, 1500 Kuchipudi Dancers, 1620 Kathakali and Mohiniattam Dancers, 1000 Ghoomar Dancers, 1000 Bhangra Dancers, among other Indian performances. 1000 Vedic Pundits, Brazilian Samba, Argentinian Tango, American Hip Hop & Rap, Russian Folk, Swiss Alphorns, Bulgarian folk & African Drummers, and many more. Other performing countries include– China Japan, Hungary, Sri Lanka, Pakistan, Singapore, Indonesia, and Middle East among many others.
2. Celebrity Engagement:
Many Bollywood personalities and celebrities will mark their presence during the 3 day festival in Delhi. Celebs like Dia Mirza, Lara Dutta among others are supporting the event. Also, the celebrities are set to perform at the event and their performance is choreographed by popular Bollywood choreographer Terrence Lewis. The Bollywood style theme song is a beautiful melody sung by top Bollywood Singers including – Asha Bhosle, Kanika Kapoor, Alka Yagnik, Lalit Pandit, Shaan, Abhijeet Bhattacharya, Babul Supriyo, Javed Ali, Bhoomi Trivedi, Akritti Kakkar, Amitabh Narayan and Aishwarya Nigam.
3. Flavours of the world:
Indulge in the flavours of the world. Enjoy, experience, taste and fall in love with the cuisines from across the globe. Learn about different foods, ingredients, spices from India and 155 other countries. Excited already?
4. Global Leadership Forum:
The Global Leadership Forum, co-hosted by the World Forum of Ethics in Business and The Art of Living Foundation in New Delhi features renowned leaders and exceptional entrepreneurial personalities from a diverse range of industries to discuss, analyze and reflect on our current paradigms of leadership. Held under the aegis of the World Culture Festival, the Global Leadership Forum seeks to explore how leadership strategies can be better adapted to meet the needs of our current globalizing and interconnected geopolitical and socio-economic landscape under themed discussion panels.
5. Meditation with Sri Sri & 3.5 Million People:
WCF 2016 will witness a guided meditation by Sri Sri Ravi Shankar Ji along with 3.5 million people. Such a blissful silence it will be, even to experience a one of a kind event like this!
