Saying NO Can Save Your Day, Life!
Do you find yourselves caught up in situations and circumstances, you absolutely do not want to be in? Later regret your heart out and crib over it for the next 24 hours; crying over the amount of lost time, the time you could have used to do something you love, something more productive. That feeling kills! And, you are in that place, or you end up in that situation only because you are too nice for saying No.
Always saying ‘Yes’ to people who just use up your time and energy is what often disrupts our schedule. I have sacrificed (yes, I want to use the word ‘sacrifice’ because it is a big loss!) so many weekends and even working days for thankless people, regretting every bit of it. Still falling trap to help them the next time they are in need.
The purpose of this write-up is simple, because I know plenty of mates who are stuck because of saying ‘yes’ or committing to many activities, leaving them with no time for themselves.
For all those lovely hearts, just these words – Don’t be a ‘Yes Man’!
This is a picture from the book – 7 habits of Highly Effective Teens, that perfectly describes a Yes Man! (I have read this full book for about 4 times, it’s awesome!)
Finish your damn work or enjoy a relaxing time, you deserve breaks too! Pleasing people, or being too shy to say ‘no’ to less important things can be a worst roadblock to your growth. I am still learning this, after wasting a lot, literally a lot of my precious time for people who do not really deserve the time and attention. But, wasn’t pleasing anyone just was trying to lend a genuine helping hand. As the saying goes, even God help those, those who help themselves! So please help yourself and contribute to your growth.
Say NO to unimportant things, situations and people so you can say YES to all the wonderful things you want to do!
Many believe, saying no is being selfish, but that’s so not true. You are saying no because you have committed that time for yourself, i.e. being more productive and, that is absolutely perfect. Great and successful personalities have been practising this all though to stay focused on their growth.
Can’t wait to hear your thoughts on this…
