5 Ideas To Make Your Diwali Special and truly a happy one!

Cleaning the house and touching up the decor, stalking up new clothes and relishing on sweets. Yes…! Diwali is here, just peeping through watching all your preparations in glee!

Diwali is indeed one of the most awaited festivals of the year. I understand that the whole pandemic situation has dimmed our enthusiasm a little when it comes to celebrations but Diwali is the time when even the humblest of homes are all bright and beautiful. So, keeping up with the tradition, we must reset our festive mood and celebrate in whatever small way possible, staying indoors!

The festival of lights is not just about bursting crackers and eating sweets, or I feel it should not be limited to just that! I believe it is possible to multiply happiness despite being stuck in this pandemic 🙂

Here are 5 quick ways to make your Diwali special and truly a happy one!

Thank that special one who always manages to light up your life!

Take a few minutes of your time to thank the one person or a group of people who manage to light up your life, every damn time! While reading this, if you are thinking of that person, then yes you need to do it. They can be your parents, your brother, your best friend, your boyfriend/girlfriend, your husband/wife, your mentor, your teacher or even your dog! This Diwali take out time to tell them that you love them and thank them for everything that they do. 🙂 Give them a hand written note or a small gift or rather just say it! 🙂

Make sure you buy Dias, Rangooli and other stuff from street vendors so even they can have a ‘Happy Diwali’ too. Also, if it is possible you can donate your old stuff to the less privileged ones and if you want to donate for a cause, adding an authentic NGO link below.

Diwali is not always happy happy. You don’t know what the person next to you is going through in their life. If you see someone acting out of their usual character lately, probe them to open up and try to cheer them up. Okay this does not mean you irritate someone while trying to be nice, some people are just quiet and introvert by their nature. Differentiate!

Make your Diwali Special by spending time with loved ones:

Whenever I have thoughts about the last day of my life on this planet, I always imagine surrounding myself with my close ones. So if they are so important to us, then why don’t we make time for them? So, I have planned a lunch/dinner outing with my family and a fun get together with my friends and click hundreds of pictures while creating good memories.

Most of the times I am super busy with work, super busy hustling, doing the work that I love to but, that takes away most of my time and I am sure yours too! So why not plan something interesting to do with your dear ones, won’t cost much na?

Indulge in some Desi Stuff:

  • Try your hand at making the traditional sweets
  • Make Rangolis
  • Look your ethnic best
  • And, more importantly just smile more 🙂

So, did you like the ideas? comment below and let me know! Also, if you have any interesting stuff to share, please do! Can’t wait to hear your thoughts…

Happy Diwali 🙂
