Having a strong Wi-Fi connection with a Laptop plus an Air-Conditioned room is literally heaven for many of us. Even the thought having this makes me smile! 🙂 But recently, when I was away from home, I realised how vulnerable I feel without the latest gadgets and most importantly the INTERNET. Using Google for every little thing, reading articles online, watching YouToube videos, using multiple Apps online, and E-mail among other stuff has become embed into our system so badly that we start feeling feeble without them. So, I started thinking about things to do without internet that are fun and interesting.
All my work happens online so for me that is like a necessity, but, while we are away from work/home or when the electricity decides to randomly trip, here are some fun things to do without Internet. Yes, you read that right! Life can be interesting without the Wi-Fi and online stuff (Experienced it!)
Explore:
Wake up, shake up and dress up to explore! There are several nearby or faraway visiting spots that you wish to explore but never actually get the time to or are lazy like me to go out. This is the time to use and visit all those uncharted spots, click awesome pictures and have the time of your life. You will never regret exploring a new place. That is an experience you add in your life.
Talk to elders:

Oldies have treasures of experience and dozens of stories to tell if you really want to listen. If you are free, feeling crap about the no-internet fact, walk up to an elderly person and genuinely listen to them. Not only you will learn valuable lessons, but even they will feel good about the conversation. Take back what you feel is right and practical out of your hearty dialogue with your new friend.
Spend time with kids:

This one can instantly uplift your mood and take you out of the gloomy feeling. Needless to say, Kids are supremely active and they love to play. Try matching your energies with them and play around like nobody is watching.
Nature walk:
This is one of my favourites. Taking a nature walk in a garden or seashore is the best therapy. Midst our hectic lifestyle we have forgotten to enjoy little things like watching the sunset and appreciating the nice weather and just being one with nature. You can catch up with friends while on your nature walk.
Read for your soul:

Reading may or may not be your thing but, it is indeed a great idea to read a good book that will nurture your soul. A good book can render you with knowledge and gainful insights.
Sit by yourself/Meditate:

Meditating or sitting by yourself gives peace of mind, allows your thoughts to settle down. It channelizes your energy to the right direction and leaves you with clarity of thought. The benefits of mediation are immense and hence winners make it a part of their daily routine.
Unleash your creativity:

Instead of starring at the laptop screen and hoping for some magic to happen (I do this when the power fails, No… I don’t…I am kidding), you can unleash your creative side. Take up the hobby which you always wanted, play your favourite instruments, try your hand at cooking or just paint!
Finish your pending work:
Okay, let’s get real, we all have lots of pending house work to do that we keep procrastinating and spend time on the internet. Your room needs attention, dishes needs to be done, clothes drove is a wreck, book shelf needs dusting, and tons of other things. Finishing that will leave you less burdened and keep you organised.
So, as I end my list of things to do without internet, I would love to hear your ideas about things to be done when you are stranded without the internet!
