OkCupid: the most trusted dating App for substantial & meaningful relationships!

OkCupid gives you an opportunity to explore and discover people with vivid interests and personalities that go beyond just physical appearances and geographical location-based options. Nowadays, the dating culture has drastically changed in the Indian scenario. There is a sincere need for a genuine platform for singles to meet and find their appropriate match. Now, people have the freedom to have honest connections and enjoy the option to explore before taking the final long-term leap.

My Personal Experience with the App:

So honestly, I was a bit apprehensive about using a dating app because online dating set-up isn’t something very positive. But since I had heard positive reviews about OkCupid and its services I decided to give it a try after researching a lot about it! The best part about the App is that you are asked and given exactly that which you really want. No randomness and no BS! It is very to the point and asks relevant and very important questions that are truly necessary if you are looking out for something genuine.

Firstly, I was impressed with #OkCupid’s clarity and also its safety features. It gives you options whether you want to use the app just for finding new friends, hooking up or for short-term and long-term relationships. Here’s the screenshot that I took:

Safety and privacy: If you wish to hide your profile from someone you had messaged or liked, you can simply do that by clicking ‘hide’ on their profile or ‘block’ on their message.

Flags: OkCupid is very particular about flagged users and the team immediately reviews their profiles to take the necessary action. There is an automated flag system as well.

The Community of Kindness: It is the only dating app that makes you take a pledge to be respectful to foster a community of respect and kindness for all users regardless of gender, orientation or identity.

Option to explore interests: By adding filters, you can search people with similar interests like adoring the same kind of music or books, the love for pets and more.

Double Take: If you like someone on the app, you can send one message which they will be able to see only when they check your profile. This gives the users a chance to express themselves without spamming anyone’s profile.

Incognito Mode: This feature allows you to keep an active profile hidden from the ones whom you have not liked or messaged.

What I liked:

• It is user-friendly.

The concept of ‘Substance Over Selfies’:

Firstly, kudos to the tagline! I mean how cool is that! This is just what we need! The App OkCupid is for all the people like you and me who are looking out for real connections based on emotional and intellectual connect. Just judging someone on the basis of a picture is so unjustified and unfair. Knowing the person with all their likes and dislikes is desired. The App asks you some good questions that help you sort out your niche and suggests relevant profiles. The decision to take the friendship or the relationship ahead is totally your call.

Technology and Algorithm:

In terms of technology, it is designed to understand users’ personalities and preferences more deeply, allowing the algorithm to then take over and suggest matches.  OkCupid does this with an intentionally time-intensive sign-up process that asks several questions to find potential matches better.It also gives more data that helps the algorithms do better in search results.
