#TheBlindList – Travelling the world with travel anxiety!
I haven’t opened up about it yet, but I want to. I have been made fun of a lot because of this but now I am used to it, so it is fine. Some of the recent incidents that happened in my life made me want to talk about ‘what is travel anxiety’ and ‘how it feels to have it also’, how I am overcoming it one step at a time. Talking about #TheBlindList and traveling to an unknown, unexplored destination, I feel, is the perfect start point! Honestly, visiting new places and exploring beautiful locales is a dream 🙂 However, the fear and anxiety held me back all these years. So, after losing tons of good opportunities professionally and personally, I decided to fight back and overcome it. Slowly and gradually taking one tiny step at a time I am able to travel and explore a lit bit feeling safe and comfortable every time I accomplish a small travel goal.
Yes, I want to tap into unknown lands, visit different countries, learn about their cultures and broaden my horizon to get out of my shell and learn about the diversity that this world has to offer! Sitting in my comfort zone is keeping me small, not traveling is not knowing half of the wonder and amazement that is there in this beautiful world. Dying without witnessing at least some of it would be a waste. I want to witness the magic of the vast sky and beauty of this earth. However, this anxiety and fear of the unknown want me to be safe. I wish to travel safely with dependable people and resources to the places of my dreams. 🙂 With time and consistent efforts, I may travel solo too!
So, where do I want to go?
Well, the question should be…where do I not want to go!!
I want to witness the beautiful mountains and the deep seas. I want to witness the greens in which nature has so beautifully decorated itself for us and we are not able to explore it because of worldly reasons and crappy excuses. I want to witness peace and serenity in tranquil locales, where gorgeous rivers flow nearby, where the sound of birds chirping is happily evident. The thought of this makes me so happy 🙂 I don’t know when and how, but this would surely happen! Despite the fear of taking the first step, despite the anxious thoughts, I will take the plunge and travel to such a place for sure! Then, I will have beautiful, scary, and intriguing stories to share. I will be a travel story-teller too with enriching experiences to share!
Well, who does not have bucket lists? But a Blind List renders thrill! Now that I am traveling into my city with little fear, I know that soon I will be a world explorer and fulfill all my travel dreams. Now that there are so many safer travel options available, I am ready for self-exploration and, have already begun my journey with mini solo outings! With the advent of the internet, everything is at our fingertips. Researching about places and learning about all the options has become easy. So, even with travel anxiety, one can take solo trips with technology to its rescue and trustworthy travel brands to depend upon. If you do it once then the second time will be less scary and the third will be seamless. Taking steps, not letting your fear hold you back is important. You are capable enough. I am capable enough. We can do it!!
