World Environment Day: Some real good ideas to steal from Dia Mirza’s home!

With the kind of change that we have witnessed in our environment in the recent years, sustainability is the need of the hour. Each one of us needs to contribute in our small little way to save our very own planet if we want it to sustain. We seriously cannot depend upon a few good souls who are working for the environment while the rest of us keep polluting it more and more every day. A few months back, I saw a short film ‘Carbon’ that scared the sh*t out of me. It portrayed that oxygen is not free, it’s sold like soaps and toothpastes. It’s smuggled and mishandled. It’s a dark world. We surely do not want that to happen to our planet, our home.

Honestly, we all know how we can do our bit for the environment. The real challenge is actually taking steps and implementing what we already know. Like for example, the harmful effects of plastic are known to all of us. Why not decide to reduce its consumption and its use to half? There are these simple changes at the personal level that we need to undertake. Actress and UNICEF Ambassador Dia Mirza has some real good ideas and insights that she shares with the world to live more sustainably. Here’s the video by the Quint:

Talking about home gardening and using planters at home, one important aspect is avoiding plastic pots. The whole purpose is to live a healthy and a sustainable green life. And, by bringing in these plastic pots, we disrupt the whole agenda. Use organic and bio-degradable planters. The fabric sacs or green planters are easily available which are not just pleasing to the eye but make your plants grow faster and healthier. They are eco-friendly and help in creating odourless composting as well.

Here are some more tips and ideas to live a sustainable life which is pro-environment from Humanitarian Leader Sri Sri Ravi Shankar:

I wish all my readers a very happy world environment day. I hope this inspires you to at least implement a few of the mentioned ideas and opt for a green living, a healthy living.
